Husband and I were looking for a nearby get-away for a few days and came across the Mildred Rose Cottage on Saint Simons Island. We'd never been to Saint Simons and liked that it was just a couple hours drive from our home in Bluffton, SC. I looked at numerous rentals online but kept coming back to the Mildred Rose. I loved that it was right on the beach with frontage on two sides and close to the Pier Village with lots of shops and restaurants. I'm so glad we chose this place. The screened porch was our favorite spot when we weren't out or on the beach. The house was clean and comfy, enough space to spread out for families or friends yet still felt cozy for just the two of us. Was impressed with how well equipped the house was. Has newer top of the line appliances, a built-in ice-maker, bbq grill, washer/dyer, toaster, blender, Nespresso coffee maker with plenty of pods, even has a printer (think boarding passes, local maps, recipes, etc.). It has pretty much everything you'd need, nice linens & bath towels, hairdryers, beach towels/chairs (though chairs are about due for replacement) and toys, plenty of dishes/glasses and serving platters/bowls/trays, games, books, three smart TVs, even found some weights and a yoga mat in one of the closets. We booked through the property management company, SSI Vacation Rentals. Aly and Richie were great and made the booking and check-in process so easy!

Cannot beat the location or the beauty of the cottage. Perfection.

Combine equal parts of ocean frontage with an original 1944 cottage, luxury finishes and a great host -- and what do you get? Mildred Rose Cottage! My family and I can’t wait to return.

We were among the first guests to stay in the cottage and were not sure what to expect. I can only say that every expectation was surpassed – by a country mile! I cannot describe the joy and ease of this cottage. This is a beach vacation just as it should be. Mildred Rose – you da’ bomb!

My girlfriends and I had a ‘girls week’ at Mildred Rose. We had a blast! Imagine waking up and hearing the ocean. . . . Going to sleep and hearing the ocean. . . Seeing the sunrise and the sunset. . . . That porch is where it’s at. We made quite a memory in the cottage and on Saint Simons. Thank you Mildred Rose!
