If you cancel your reservation 60 days prior to the check-in date, we will gladly refund you 100% of the amount you paid. We will also give full refunds to guests who planned on checking in between 14 and 60 days from the date they make their reservation – so long as they cancel within 48 hours of making the reservation. Because the cottage is booked far in advance, we are not able to offer refunds for any other type of cancellation.
Check in time is at 4 pm, check out is at 10 am. If we can accommodate you on an early or late check in or check out, we surely will. Please ask our property manager if this is possible.
This is a smoke-free home – and that includes the porch. Nope, no smoking on the porch! If you smoke, you’ll need to go onto the lawn or the driveway.
We love 4-legged beings of all kinds, but unfortunately, Mildred Rose does not! No pets of any kind are allowed in the cottage.
We love a good party – just not in our home. Our neighbors are watching the house constantly and will call the police – and get you and us in trouble. So not worth it! Have your friends meet you up the road at the Barrier Island Brewery or at Fiddlers. You’ll have a great time, we promise!
There are hoses at the back of the house and at the front of the house. If you go to the beach, please rinse off before coming inside. Future guests will thank you for keeping sand out of the house – and we do too!
The rocks are very dangerous – and in addition to that, they are federal property! They were placed by President Johnson in the 1960’s, after the big hurricane that submerged much of Saint Simons. Please climb Mount Everest – but not the rocks!
On the side of the cottage – in line with the driveway — you will see a change in the grass and a small dip in the landline, but there is no fence. Please stay on our side of the property – don’t go on the neighbors’ grass.
Please do not use the fireplace located in the main dining area.
Inside and outside, all of our plants are our babies and we take good care of them. There is nothing you need do to care for them – we have people we pay to do that – but please don’t do anything that could damage our plants. Examples of things that other guests have done: disposing of their alcoholic beverages in the soil, throwing paint onto the leaves, cutting the flowers, breaking the branches, turning off the water supply. We’re certain you won’t do any of these things, but just to be clear, we include it here.
If you spill something, you might try using one of the stain removers located in the broom closet – in the kitchen, facing the exit door, the cabinet just on the right. There are two different stain removers located in there – one is a general stain remover in a big red and clear spray bottle; the other is for red wine.
